About the Shelter

On November 12, 2023, the shelter welcomed its first residents from the city of Novohrodivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Since then, Caritas has provided safe housing for 81 people from Kherson, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. All of them are elderly individuals who have been left without a roof over their heads in their later years.

The shelter is adapted for elderly people and individuals with disabilities.

Social service of stationary care for the elderly and seriously ill individuals

Provision of conditions for stationary stay, including meals

Assistance with personal hygiene and self-care

Organization of daily activities and leisure, psychological support

Provision of rehabilitation services according to individual rehabilitation programs

Monitoring of health status and organization of medical care, including as per doctors' prescriptions

Social service of supported living

Provision of living space, assistance with organizing daily routines

Organization of medical care

Assistance in obtaining humanitarian aid to meet basic needs

Assistance with household management (help with purchasing food, medications, and other goods, assistance with cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc.)

Assistance in coordinating with other specialists and services, representation of interests; consultations on social protection and legal aid matters

The services are available to internally displaced persons and local residents aged 60+, who are in difficult life circumstances and meet the following criteria:
